Ooh it was cold, it was. And wet. But we got some super lovely family photos of these guys just being a family. It was quick. And it was easy. Mini sessions are great because I take a lotttt of photos in a short amount of time, so everyone wins. If you want some photos of your family but don’t have a lot of time (or energy!), I’m your photographer!
This gorgeous family hired me to come up and take some posed and candid photos on dad’s big BIG birthday. What a great idea - we got some lovely posed photos of the four of them and loads of photos, both inside and out, as the rest of their family arrived for the festivities…
As a photographer in Edinburgh, I end up spending a lot of time in various parks around town so I often suggest bringing a football or a frisbee with you to your photo session -- when your kids are a little older it give them something to focus on other than be photographed! And it allows your kids to just be kids and play a bit, with each other and with you.
What a lovely family, and such a joy to photograph.. And my favourite part was when they let the dogs out! This was a 20 minute autumn mini session - I can really take a lot of photos in a short amount of time, so it’s ideal if you have a baby. Even more ideal if you can colour-coordinate like these guys did - swoon.
Lesley is the loveliest person, and one of the strongest people I’ve met as well, in every way possible. Genuinely. We do a bootcamp together, and it was so great to meet her ginormous family and get a few photos of them enjoying the Autumn weather together.
It was peak autumn, in one of the prettiest places I’ve seen in this area, and the light was perfect. Three gorgeous children, two pretty gorgeous parents, and bulldog called Steve. Steve! I just loved every minute of this photo session and was equally psyched to discover Gosford Estate in Longniddry - what a place!
This is the first time I’ve been hired to take photos at a party but what a great idea! This was a super special 80th birthday celebration where a big family who lives all over the country got together to celebrate. Everyone was in the photos, with lots of candid shots and a few more formal portraits, and no one had to fuss with a camera phone and play photographer, because they had one….
What a lovely family. They were from Texas and on their first proper holiday as a family, and wanted to capture all the goodness with some photos. If you’re coming to Edinburgh for your vacation, think about getting some photos taken with your whole family in them.
All babies are beautiful, but this one was something special. Although actually mom and dad are gorgeous so it’s really no wonder. Jenny and Joe are friends of mine, and I popped over to their new home one morning, had a cuppa and took some photos of the three of them. If you’re looking to capture some moments at home with your new baby, please get in touch as photographing babies is my favourite thing to do!
This gorgeous little family was so much fun to photograph, and the light they got in their home was the stuff of dreams. Pink, unicorns, sparkly stuff and rainbows galore ruled the day, and we all had fun taking these photos here in Edinburgh. Including Muffin the cat.
The last time I photographed these girls, two sets of sisters who are all cousins, was three years ago. Since then another cousin - yes, another girl! - has joined the fun. We went back to Arthur’s Seat and as before, it didn’t disappoint. And this time we also had moms, dads and grandparents along for the ride, because the more, the merrier.
I’ve been contacted many times before to take photos of people while they’re on vacation here in Edinburgh, but this was the first time I’ve been free to do it. These guys were so absolutely lovely - a massive family spread out all over the US, and they all met up here for a fun holiday together sightseeing and watching The Open….
When I went up to the McAuslans farm at the end of February, Lucie was very pregnant. And one of the girls ended up having what we now call the "welly incident" (it got well stuck in the mud, as did her socked-foot) when we quickly had to retreat indoors for some shoes and haribos to make it all better…
In addition to the fact that I'm a bit of a fan girl of Emily's work, this was such a great session because these guys just got on with what they'd do on a typical Saturday, and I was there, sometimes in the foreground…
I walked into their home and within seconds, Finn was showing me his toys and Maggie gave me a bit of pancake. I felt like I'd known these guys forever in the best way possible, and it was super lovely…
This was a house full of boy — mama Sorour is very much outnumbered! Such a lovely family in an uber-beautiful Edinburgh home, a photographer couldn't ask for much more than that!
Three hens, three horses, three ponies, one grandmother (with her own dog), two parents, two children and one more on the way. Please can I do all the rest of my photo sessions on a farm? So. Much. Fun.
Well this was fun! It was just after Hogmanay (don't let the jacket-less photos fool you - it was cold!), and how lovely is it to have a family photo session…
These guys were simply adorable - all four of them. The cutest children (and how amazing is their son's hair?!), photographed in their new home just before the holidays…
For at least an entire five minutes after I finished this session, I wish we'd had four children instead of two. The Reids were the largest family I've photographed yet…
